Our 2012 Merlot from Cordon Grove Vineyard in Columbia Valley was rated OUTSTANDING by Great Northwest Wine in April 2015--their highest rating!

Here's what they had to say:

Gary Grove’s vineyard in Prosser, Wash., has contributed to some of the top wines from acclaimed Walla Walla Vintners, and here the tandem of Robert Delf and Robert Smasne created four barrels’ worth of meritorious Merlot from the Yakima Valley site. The nose offers hints of dark chocolate, plums, Western serviceberry, mincemeat spice and gravel dust. On the pour is a sizable delivery of blackberry and Damson plum, backed by a bold yet balanced structure of blueberry seed tannins and pomegranate acidity.

Rating: Outstanding!

This OUTSTANDING wine is just $24. Order it online or come in to the tasting room in Kirkland! Only 99 cases produced so don't wait!

NWC Malb12Our 2012 Malbec from Spofford Station Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley is rated EXCELLENT  by Great Northwest Wine in April 2015

Rating: Excellent

Here's what they had to say:

"Kirkland vintner Bob Delf sources this Malbec from third-generation rancher Lynne Chamberlain, who became one of the first students in Walla Walla Community College’s viticulture and enology program. Her vineyard near the iconic Spofford Station grain elevator leads to aromas of pie cherry, white pepper and Demet’s Turtles with pecan, milk chocolate and caramel. The pour brings sensations of black cherry, black currant and dark chocolate with a balanced structure of fine-grained tannins, Montmorency cherry acidity and dark toast in the finish. It’s a tasty way to take part in World Malbec Day."

This EXCELLENT Malbec wine is just $28. Order it online or come in to the tasting room in Kirkland! Only 102 cases produced so don't wait!

Our 2012 Merlot was featured in Great Northwest Wines! Read the transcript below.

Seattle Seahawks fans can order bottles of this Merlot that pays tribute to the Twelves, and it’s a wine worthy of serving on Saturday night, even though it’s priced for Tuesday night. Kirkland, Wash., vintner Robert Delf and his winemaker, Robert Smasne, continue to rack up gold medals for their collaborations, just as this fruit-forward Merlot did at the 2014 American Wine Society national competition. That group of judges in North Carolina no doubt found tones of sweet Marionberry, President plum and cherry pipe tobacco before admiring its pleasing acidity and well-balanced tannins. It’s reminiscent of hiking in a forest and gathering mountain berries, and the finish is both expressive and lengthy.

Rating: Outstanding!
