After selling the company, I began looking for my next adventure and decided to pursue my ever-growing enthusiasm for good wine. I decided to find a way to offer personalized packaging but with great wine in the bottle. After years of experience in the software industry, I looked at how to leverage technology to make personalization affordable so the quality of the wine didn’t have to suffer. I sought out accomplished and highly-acclaimed consulting winemaker Robert Smasne and in 2004 Northwest Cellars was born. Today, Robert (Smasne) continues to be my consulting winemaker, and then I do the blending myself. Our in-house design and production team can work with your art or create something for you. What wines are available? We can apply your private label to any of the wines we have in bottle. This includes well-known varieties like the highly sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, Washington’s famed Merlot, or rich complex blends like our best-barrel Intrigue or GSM (Madrigal). Or, if your clientele is an adventurous lot, you can select from any number of interesting and unique varietals like Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Viognier, or Carménère.
