YOU. MUST. TRY. THESE. WINES.

The first of our 2012 Barrel-aged reds are here!

“I‘m excited to share our 2012 red wines with you! These are the first two of 13 limited production 2012 red wines that will be released throughout 2015. The 2012 vintage is one of the best since I started the winery 10 years ago, and I think these are the best wines we have made … so far.”  Bob Delf, Northwest Cellars, Chief Wine Geek

Come into the Kirkland Winery and Tasting Room to get your hands on these while they last. Both are very limited productions and will sell out quickly!

Kirkland Columbia Valley Merlot 2012 from Cordon Grove Vineyard (Columbia Valley)

90% Merlot, 10% Syrah  |  Only 99 cases. $24 per bottle.

This wine opens with a hint of floral perfume along with inviting scents of chocolate, caramel, rainier cherry, blueberry and dark plum, some dried orange peel and a touch of bronze fennel. It has a lush and smooth mouthfeel with very finely integrated tannins and lots of cherry cola, concentrated blueberry, cocoa, bramble and a touch of allspice.

PAIR THIS KIRKLAND COLUMBIA VALLEY MERLOT 2012 WITH: sharp aged cheddar, hamburgers, a big juicy steak

Malbec 2012 from Spofford Station Vineyard (Walla Walla Valley)

97% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot  |  Only 102 cases. $28 per bottle.

Plum, dusty strawberry, and blackberry along with sweet vanilla and chocolate aromas entice the nose with this voluptuous wine. The palate plays out with more not-quite-ripe blackberry and dark plum but also red currant and a tart cherry zing of acidity. Fine grained tannins here and that dusty dark quality that finishes with a little sweet spice…mmm…

PAIR THIS MALBEC WITH: dark chocolate, pepper steak, grilled or smoked salmon, BBQ ribs
